Beef by the Side

We sell our 100% Grassfed Beef by the side.  There are many reasons to buy beef by the side including convenience and cost savings, but it can be a confusing process the first time you take the leap.  We try to keep it simple and hope this guide will assist you, but if you have more questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!

All of our beef comes from cows born and raised on our farm.  They are primarily Angus, but we have bred in Horned Hereford, Gelbvieh and Senepol to improve their ability to thrive on grass alone.  Our beef is dry-aged by the processor for 2.5 weeks before being cut, packaged in freezer plastic, labeled and flash frozen.

We are currently on a wait list for sides of beef.  When that list gets too long (a year wait), we close the list until it is back to a six month wait.  Please send a message through the website to ask to be placed on the wait list. Please include the quantity you want (half or quarter), the general location of delivery, and the best email at which to reach you.  We are not taking deposits for sides of beef as we cannot guarantee a delivery date.  We generally harvest 2 steer each month, but it really depends on the growth of the animals. If they aren't finished, we wait. If we reach out and you are not able to take beef at that time, we will move you to the next month.  If we reach out to you three times and you are not ready, we can either move you to the bottom of the wait list or remove from the wait list - whichever is best for you.

You are welcome to split your purchase among friends, extended family, neighbors or whomever you like.  We are happy to accept payments from multiple sources. However, we will only deliver to one address and cannot assist with splitting your order.  Because beef delivery day is already a long one, we will need you to unload your beef into coolers or other containers before sorting it.

We try to deliver sides of beef on Saturday so it fits better into most people's schedules. We pick up and sort beef from Chaudhry Halal Meats into coolers the morning of your delivery and deliveries generally occur between noon-4pm. We make 2-8 deliveries on one day so have had to limit our delivery distance.  Generally speaking, we deliver to Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Burlington and surrounding areas. If you are outside of our area, we are happy to meet you on the edge of our delivery area.  You'll transfer the beef to your coolers in a public parking lot. 

A quarter steer is cut into a standard set of cuts.  These include: tenderloin filet steaks, NY Strip steaks, boneless ribeye steaks, bone-in sirloin steak, eye of round roast, flat iron, London Broil, bottom round roast, brisket, short ribs, stew beef, beef patties, flank steak, skirt steak, chuck & shoulder roasts, sirloin tip steaks, liver, soup bones, knuckle bones, beef fat, and of course, ground beef.  Half steer orders are custom cut to your specifications.  We send a link to a Google form for you to fill out.
